Northeast Radiology acquires HVRA’s Danbury and New Milford offices

‘Multi-million dollar investment’ planned for both locations

Northeast Radiology, a Brewster, N.Y.-based provider of medical imaging, has acquired the Danbury and New Milford offices of  Housatonic Valley Radiological Associates, or HVRA, which operates a third imaging centers in Southbury.

Northeast Radiology said today in a news release that the merger became effective today, and that both companies will now operate under the Northeast Radiology name.

Northeast Radiology will make a ”multimillion investment” in the merged company’s Danbury and New Milford locations, Dr. Howard M. Lee, president of Northeast Radiology, said in the release.

Lee said ”major investments” will be made to upgrade both facilities’ magnetic resonance imaging, computerized axial tomography, or CT, scan, ultrasound, 3-D mammography and ultrasound services.

Northeast Radiology, founded in 1996, is a private, physician-owned practice with imaging centers in in Danbury and Brewster and Mt. Kisco, N.Y.

HVRA, founded in 1978, has imaging centers in New Milford at 131 Kent Road and Southbury at 800 Main St. South, as well as in Danbury.
