PET/CT
PET/CT combines two state of the art imaging technologies; PET (Position Emission Tomography) and CT (Computed Tomography), during a single examination.
PET examines the metabolic functions of actively growing cancer cells. The PET images are fused with high resolution CT images of the body to reveal the location, size and shape of abnormal cancer growths.
Fusing PET and CT into one study, provides cancer patients with an earlier, more accurate diagnosis. PET/CT can provide a physician with precise staging and localization for appropriate treatment and monitoring.
