Responding to our area’s increased needs, Northeast Radiology’s original and largest office located in Brewster, NY (located on Route 6, near the New York and Connecticut border) will not only receive a dramatic "makeover" but also a physical expansion to accommodate a new state-of-the-art Cancer Treatment Center, contributing not only to improved health care in the area, but also to the local economy.

Northeast Radiology’s plans include building an advanced facility for treating cancer with a new, top of the line Varian linear accelerator radiotherapy system capable of treating many forms of cancer and all requiring radiation therapy. It can deliver high energy photons in standard linear fashion but also with IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy), the most precise and sophisticated treatment in the world. This will enable Northeast Radiology to not only diagnose but also to treat many cancers including patients with prostate, breast, head and neck, lung, pancreatic, and other cancers where precisely placed beams focus to carefully target tumor cells without harming surrounding healthy tissue.

"Because radiation therapy patients must return regularly for treatments, having these services performed at an out-patient facility makes sense," says Scott Nadel, M.D., co-founder of Northeast Radiology.
